DIPLOMA EXAMINATION REGULATIONS

Diplomas. 
bulletThe College awards the Professional Diplomas of Associate and Licentiate to candidates successful in the appropriate examination.

bulletQualification for Entry  No entry qualifications are required for the LBCA or the ABCA(TD) EXAMINATIONS
bulletAge  There is no age qualification for the Performers Diploma Examination.  Candidates must have reached the age of 17 years before either Teacher Diploma may be awarded.
bulletEntries.  Entries for Diploma Examinations must be made on the Diploma Entry Form
bulletExamination Dates.  The Diploma Examinations are held at the College twice annually, on dates previously announced
bulletClosing Dates for Entry.  All entry forms must reach the College at least five weeks before the advertised date of examination.  The entry fees are as per the entry form.
bulletLate Entries.  Late Entries will be accepted up to four weeks before the advertised date of the examination, on payment of a Late Entry Fee
bulletWithdrawals.  Withdrawals will be accepted only if made in writing and received at the College at least three weeks before the examination date.  In this case a candidate may enter for the examination at the next only Diploma examination session on payment of a Re Registration Fee see entry form for details.  Failure to comply with this rule will result in the Entry Fee being forfeited.
bulletAbsence.  Candidates who do not present themselves for examinations at the appointed times will automatically forfeit the Examination Fee.  In the case of illness a doctor's certificate must be forwarded to the College within Two Weeks.  The candidate may then re enter for the same examination at the next only Diploma examination session on payment of a Re Registration Fee.
bulletConduct in the Examination Room.  Only the examiner or the invigilator and the Candidate(s) are allowed in the examination room.  Smoking is not allowed.  Talking is not allowed during aural and written examinations.  All forms of irregular aids are Prohibited.
bulletMarks.  The maximum mark obtainable in each section of the Diploma Examination is 100. The Diploma will only be awarded if 70 marks or over are obtained in every section.  Candidates who obtain less than 70 marks in any section will have failed that section.  Re entry in any section failed is allowed at a subsequent examination session on payment of the necessary fee.  In this case every section of a Diploma Examination must be passed within a period of Five years, otherwise the complete examination must be taken again.
bulletExaminers Decision.  In all matters relating to the actual examination the Examiners Decisions are final.
bulletNB Where an ABCA(TD) examination is taken within five years of a successfully passed LBCA examination of vice versa the General Musical Knowledge Paper and trhe Aural Dictation Examination need not be taken in the second time.
